Sad News for Eastside Little League

On October 22, 2025 we suffered the passing of long-time Eastside member Bernard Ernst. Bernie devoted 33 years to Eastside as a coach, umpire, Board member, grill master and builder of many of the amenities we enjoy on the Tryon Park campus. Bernie had a hand in all things Eastside, and always with a smile and devotion to the kids that play for the league. Bernie also proudly served in the U.S. Air Force veteran during the Viet Nam War and was recognized with a full military honor guard at his internment. As noted in his obituary, Bernie was the best husband, father, grandfather and friend we could have asked for, and he will be missed more than words can express. “
