RG&E was very concerned about the affect the project would have on the surrounding community, and actively solicited input from those affected by the work, including Eastside Little League. Of paramount concern to R G & E were issues related to the safety of the project during construction and the final configuration of the substation. RG&E ultimately adopted several recommendations made by Eastside regarding the final construction of the station where it shares a common border with the outfield, insuring the safest possible configuration for the station and safety of Eastside players on the baseball field. In addition to the collaboration afforded Eastside on the project, R G & E provided a substantial contribution to Eastside Little League to support the program.
