Parent Code of Conduct

Eastside Little League believes youth sports offer a valuable opportunity for children to grow physically, emotionally, and socially. The role parents and guardians play is essential to this growth. Therefore, adults responsible for registered players agree to model the following core character traits:

• Accountability • Citizenship • Empathy • Fairness • Respect • Responsibility

By signing below, parents/guardians agree to the following guidelines, which must be upheld at all league events:

1. I understand youth sports are for children to have fun and learn; participation will never be forced.
2. I will inform coaches of any condition affecting my child's safety or performance.
3. I will familiarize myself with league policies and game rules appropriate to my child's level.
4. I (and my guests) will model positive sportsmanship by treating all players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and fellow spectators with respect, courtesy, and fairness.
5. I (and my guests) will refrain from unsportsmanlike or disruptive behaviors, such as booing, taunting, or using inappropriate language or gestures.
6. I will not coach from the sidelines unless officially designated as a coach.
7. I will encourage my child to follow the rules, resolve conflicts respectfully, and prioritize teamwork and fair play.
8. I will emphasize effort, improvement, and enjoyment of the game over individual achievements or outcomes.
9. I will never ridicule my child or other players for mistakes or performance outcomes.
10. I will maintain an environment free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol.
11. I will respect the authority of coaches and officials, addressing any concerns privately at an agreed-upon time.
12. I (and my guests) agree to comply with directions from league officials.

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in removal from league events and possible suspension from future league activities.
